Code Purple: Day One

Silence here,
but anger gnashes teeth
and I am caught between them.

An embrace,
a tarnished anchor
tied to the horrible truth of us.

And night,
so many monsters
stalk the sidewalks in your command,
so many of them with blood on their hands,
with names placed darkly on their lips.

It is my blood.
It is my name.
