DVAM Code-Purple: Day Five

I cannot show you where it hurts.
The damage cannot be seen.
It bores into me,
A sickness that will never leave.

A poison so thick and crude
That it dilutes the blood,
Stunts the will,
And sows a seed of helplessness.

Harmful thoughts restructure
Hope into fear,
Love into desperation,
Life into a harrowing deadfall.

Every open door serves
As a catalyst to fear,
Every genuine touch
Presents itself as suspect.

My body will reflect
This damaged mind,
And it will take years
To truly overcome.
